Lisa Janson

Lisa didn’t want an empty hope. It needed to be durable. Childhood sexual abuse led to years of struggling with anxiety, depression, and shame. She sought guidance from both traditional counseling and church and was met with resources that often excluded the power of God to heal or that provided pat Christian answers. Through trauma recovery coaching, Lisa experienced how powerful it is to walk through dark seasons with someone who is encouraging you to lift your eyes to Him while also understanding trauma and the depth of pain.

Lisa thought that her faith was built on God, her Rock. However, she realized that she had built additional scaffolding to make herself feel more secure and comfortable. Over the past several years, multiple adversities have stripped her of this scaffolding. This left her initially feeling unmoored. However, through His gentle love and guidance, she slowly came to understand her security in the Rock rather than relying on a security of her own making.

As a trauma recovery coach, Lisa is passionate about being present with others in their pain so that they feel seen and known. Lisa is a careful listener who asks questions in a way that is gentle yet direct. Her faith is messy and full and authentic and hard-won.
